Want To Get A Perfect Pedicure At Home? Here’s What You Should Know!

Most of us today lead a very hectic life, especially ladies who are working. We tend to go to the parlor for a haircut or facial, but we mostly tend to neglect our feet. This results in a callused foot. Feet are neglected as we often don’t have time for going for a pedicure at the beauty clinic, but that does not mean we cannot have a relaxing pedicure at home with homemade ingredients or products which are easily available.

Homely Pampering!

Whether you want to soften your calluses or just want to get a foot massage and pamper your feet, you can do all that without leaving the comfort of your home.

Following steps will show you how:

  • Choose Your Supplies- For a relaxing and proper pedicure; you need to have a tub and water, nail files, nail clippers, a cuticle stick, pumice stone, a nail buffer, a clear top and base coat and a polish color. And some bath salts and oils and cuticle trimmers.
  • Remove Dirt Old Nail Polish- It is important to remove your old nail polish as it will be difficult to add new color to the old one or even the color along the cuticles too. Apart from being necessary, the layer won’t look as great as it should have been.
  • Soak Your Feet- Fill the tub with hot water and soak your feet in it. You can add a bit of salt and lemon if you want to soften your calluses and cuticles and nails. Adding them can also help in removing the nasty smell of your feet.
  • Cut Your Nails And File Them- Cut your toenails with a nail clipper, cut it deep so as the white end of the toe is visible. Then use the nail file to soften the edges of the nails and shape them as desired.
  • Smoothen the Tops of Your Nails- Use a buffing pad to smoothen the top of the nails. This will help in retaining the shine even without the extra tone of a natural colored nail polish.
  • Clean the Skin- Now start cleaning your skin of your feet, scrub with a pumice stone to remove the calluses and the grime. After cleaning, use a scrubbing brush to clean the entire area. Once you are done with scrubbing, dry your feet with a soft towel. It is essential to dry it well and apply a moisturizer.
  • Polishing- After drying your feet put on a lotion on your feet and give it a massage. Add a base coat of nail polish on your toenails and apply the color that you want. Wait for the first coat to dry off and then apply the second coat.

See how easy it is to do a home pedicure but always remember to use disinfected tools for your pedicure as dirty tools might harbor some bacteria and cause unwanted damage.
